The Email I Sent To The Guy Who Called Me A Greedy, Capitalist Pig

Part of being a greedy, self centered, money hungry, capitalist pig is asking yourself every single day - how can I help and serve more and more people every single day?

How many homeowners can I help who are in an impossible situation?

How many toilets can I help fix?

How many cheeseburgers can I sell so I can feed as many hungry people as possible?

How many units can I buy so I can house as many low income families as possible, and give them warm, safe and dry place to stay?

But we get a bad rap as being "greedy" because people think we are just in it for the money. Well, we expect to be compensated for selling a house, fixing a toilet, making a cheeseburger or housing a tenant. We expect to get paid maybe very, very little for that on just one sale. Maybe we only make 10 cents for every cheeseburger we sell. But if we sell a million of them, then that means we have been a servant to a million customers. And because we are servants, we are rich.

Just like you want to get paid when you work at a job. You expect to get paid by the hour or by the week, if you are on salary. Your boss doesn't expect you to work for free. Even if you wanted to, you couldn't work for free - because you have bills to pay and mouths to feed.

The only difference between you and me is that you maybe have one source of income from a boss - and maybe I have 100 sources of income from customers, tenants and houses I sell. I make a little bitty stream off of one income source, but when you add them all up - it equals a lot. But if you really wanted to serve more people and build more income streams for yourself, you have the same opportunity as everybody else. This is America.

I grew up in poverty, and I had nothing or nobody to help me with my business. Nobody ever gave me anything. I had to constantly strive, work hard and serve people to get where I am today. And I STILL haven't made it to where I want to be.

The only difference between the life path of a business person and the life path of an employee is that a business person has several ways to make money, and an employee just has one. But the opportunity is available to anyone.

Being an entreprenuer isn't as easy as it looks. It takes a lot of drive, determination and dedication. Sometimes, we go years losing money, and then years just barely breaking even before we start to show a profit. Being a successful business owner takes unbelievable persistence, determination and courage, more than the average person will ever realize.
